We are hosting a meet and greet dinner at Mandalay Bay's Bayside Buffet

Mandalay Bay Bayside Buffet: We really like the buffet and figured that it would be a nice, casual atmosphere for people to drop in as we have guests arriving at various times from two different countries. They charged me a $125 large group fee and I'm still not entirely sure what this is for given that there's no private dining area. Attempts to get them to waive it were useless, so it is what it is.
Mandalay Bay Hotel: We booked our suite through smartervegas.com and got a smoking deal, this is where the groom and I will be staying as well as the room that the girls will be getting ready in the day of so we felt it was worth it to go with a bigger suite.
Creative Formalwear: For steaming my dress, MOB's dress as well as the groom's attire.

Friday, July 30, 2010 - Our Wedding Day!
Our ceremony will be held at Mandalay's Valley of the Falls area at 5:00PM   Following that we will have pictures, and we have rented a Limo-bus to take us and our guests to Maggiano's. Cocktails and appetizers will be at 7:30PM and we will have a full dinner afterwards followed by a "where the night takes us" party along The Vegas Strip

Mandalay Bay: We have booked the Valley of the Falls with Opal Shores package for our wedding. We liked the fact that we can pick our own music and love the idea of an outdoor ceremony, as well, Mandalay is one of our favourite hotels in Vegas so it only made sense that we looked there first. In terms of our wedding "co-ordinator", Richelle, I haven't been overly impressed. She's not so much a planner/co-ordinator as a gatherer of information - I have heard similar comments from other brides and everything seems to work out. I have found when I ask the right questions she is able to send me additional info regarding things like the flowers and music but didn't volunteer any info even when I thought we had discussed what I was looking for and it would have been much simplier to just tell me things like the order of songs needed on the CD we provide.  Also, things like dark red is actually black magic roses, they must have had three or four different reds for the silk arrangements, bouquets and petals - this would have been nice to know without asking.
Glamsquad: Communication has been absolutely excellent with these guys and I look forward to working with them. I have booked them for a few hours to do airbrushed make-up for myself, my two attendants and both of our mothers. I will also be getting the false eyelashes. They suggested arriving at noon to have us ready by around 3:30 or 4:00PM for our 5:00PM ceremony. Total cost of this is $825.
Cashman/Photography: We have to use Cashman for the ceremony and the Opal Shores package includes an additional hour of photos around the hotel area. I've heard mixed reviews, but I am excited about having our ceremony on video to capture all the things we're likely to forget. For the getting ready, reception and general candid shots, my Dad who has both the eye and equipment of a professional is going to be our official photographer. I just need to remember to get him in some of the shots as well!
AWG Transportation: We have booked a 28-passengar limo-style coach to take our guests to the reception as well as pick up everyone from Maggiano's. They were fairly middle-of-the-road in terms of pricing for a limo-style coach, however they were quick to respond, let us pay up front (which is important as we will be meeting the guests at Maggiano's) and allowed for hour-long rentals versus a lot of competitors that only allowed for 2-hour minimums.
Maggiano's: Like most Vegas brides, I have found Marc and Cassy to be amazing to work with. We are renting the Abruzzi room - which has a balcony - with a $2,000 minimum and using table linens and florals towards this.
The Pallette: Pam was able to come up with a great centrepiece idea in our budget and will deliver to Maggiano's for us so we don't have to worry about it. Again, quick and easy communication so far.

We have rented a West Lagoon cabana at Mandalay Bay from 9:00AM until 7:00PM as a nice, relazing, central meeting place to hang out in. This cost us $625 and includes: sodas, water, TV and iPod docking station. Be forewarned if you plan to book, definitely confirm your reservation as I was told that they are in the process of changing over their reservation system.
